It is widely accepted that our minds also need relaxation after some time due to work pressure. Now, the main thing is how we can handle this pressure, and that's why we decided to go on a trip. The main question is what place we should go to according to this season. Through reference and suggestion, we analyzed Jaisalmer as a perfect place for our exploration, but we knew nothing about the trip. Through research, we connected with Winds Desert Camp, which provided us with all the necessary information about their Jaisalmer Tour Packages. Through this blog, we want to share our experience exploring the Thar desert, the activities we performed there, and how our trip was successful at Jaisalmer Desert Camp.

Experience the thrilling view of golden dunes while taking in breathtaking views of the desert below. Many desert camps offer these adventures for a unique bird's eye view of the vast Thar Desert.
In early February, when in the vicinity, visit the exciting Jaisalmer Desert Festival. Every year, the festival focuses on the cultural wealth of Rajasthani through interesting folk music, lively dances, camel processions, and entertaining events, including turban-tying contests and camel racing. It's a great opportunity to delve into the local customs and bask in the atmosphere of festivities.
Rather than opting for the regular camel safaris in Sam Sand Dunes, head into the unexplored dunes of the desert to find something unique. The long safaris can take you deeper into the dunes, where one can discover blackbucks and desert foxes roaming around and view the landscape far from the maddening crowd.
Attend an enchanting Folk Tale Show at Gadisar Lake. This mesmerizing display of sound and light brings the history of Jaisalmer to life with tales of how the city began, its founder, and the battles it has faced. All this is set in the breathtaking setting of the lake. You can sit by the lakeside serenity or aboard a boat, offering an unforgettable viewing point.
We visited Kuldhara, A haunted abandoned village near Jaisalmer that takes you back in history. Inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins earlier, Kuldhara is popular for its eerie beauty and steeped in an enigmatic mystery surrounding the reason for its abandonment. It is a different experience to walk through the ruins as an adventure into the past.
We also visited Patwon Ki Haveli, one of the most wonderful havelis in Jaisalmer. This five-tale structure stands out for its tricky structure and tremendous craftsmanship. It houses stunning frescoes and carvings telling the story of its rich merchants, bringing to life the lifestyle of earlier days in Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer is known for its beautiful handicrafts so you can explore some great markets here. To get special souvenirs such as embroidered fabrics, detailed jewelry, and leather items, head to local bazaars such as Sadar Bazaar and Bhatia Bazaar. You will meet the local artisans, making the shopping experience enjoyable.
Desert National Park is rich in unique flora and fauna, which are highly adapted to desert environments. Natural wonders are awaiting discovery here. Take guided tours to see some of the rare birds, including the Great Indian Bustard or birdwatch, at migration times.
Do not miss trying authentic Rajasthani dishes while you are there. Food in Jaisalmer is also very lively, and spicy curry, sweet ghevar, and jalebi are its main attractions. Desert camps provide authentic meals under the night sky with cultural shows, which make the meals even more special.
Apart from visiting Jaisalmer Fort, consider the Lodurva Jain Temple and the palace at Amar Sagar Lake as some other notable sites for your history trip. When journeying the Thar Desert, a few key things to not forget will ensure a safe and exciting ride: Wear mild clothes with breathable textures to cover as a whole lot of your skin as possible and produce adequate water to avoid dehydration in this warm desert.
Choose between a camel or jeep safari, depending on your preferred journey, and don't forget to hire a neighbourhood guide who can share precious facts approximately the barren region's ecology and way of life. Always respect local traditions by asking before taking photos, travel in groups, and maintain a safe distance from wildlife for safety reasons. Lastly, spend your nights gazing at the stars and enjoying cultural shows around a bonfire to appreciate the desert's charm fully.
